Excellence in Community Advancement
ICSC’s Excellence in Community Advancement Award recognizes outstanding public-private partnerships between municipalities and developers that have successfully delivered transformative retail and mixed-use projects. This award celebrates initiatives that drive economic opportunity, enhance community well-being, and create lasting value through innovative development strategies.

 

Award Categories

  • Redevelopments/Revitalizations: Projects that have revitalized existing properties to meet modern community needs through adaptive reuse, innovative leasing models, and economic impact strategies.
  • New Developments: Projects that area newly constructed retail or mixed-use projects that exemplify cutting-edge design, placemaking, and community integration.

 

Award Classifications
Projects will be evaluated in two classifications based on location:

  • Urban/Suburban: Areas with populations over 50,000.
  • Rural: Areas with populations under 50,000.

 

Recipient Benefits
Winning projects receive:

  • Recognition at the Advancing Retail in Communities event at ICSC LAS VEGAS
  • A commemorative award plaque
  • Featured coverage in Commerce + Communities Today and on ICSC.com

 

Eligibility & Submission Details

  • Open to public entities, non-profits, and private developers
  • Projects must be completed and operational before November 1, 2024
  • Submission fee: $100 (Members) | $150 (Non-Members)

 

How to Apply
Nominations are open to projects that have demonstrated exceptional collaboration, creative financing, and measurable community impact.
To submit your project, complete the online nomination form by March 31, 2025.
